Parties, Happenings, Nightlife Events & News In Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach & Redondo Beach

Welcome To The PubClub.com South Bay Party Report – Halloween Weekend Edition!
The PubClub.com South Bay Party Report is brought to you by Kona Brewing Company, which has the perfect beer to drink for Halloween, even tho it’s not spooky because it’s exactly what you expect, and that is good, smooth and delicious!
SHARKEEZ SHOUTOUT
I want to start the Party Report with a special shout-out to Sharkeez Hermosa Beach for hosting the Buffett Party bus crew as our meeting bar on Saturday.
They gave us Happy Hour drink specials (basically 2-4-1); free huge platters of appetizers with fish tacos, fried shrimp, beef taquitos and incredibly delicious chicken and steak skewers and a staff that treated me as I were Jimmy Buffett and the party bus’ers as if they were the Coral Reefer Band. They played Buffett tunes during commercial breaks of the football games and created a fun atmosphere that put everyone in the perfect mood for a Buffett party bus.
As we left and I thanked Madison, the promotion person, she said “just let me know if there’s anything else we can do for you.”
I paused for a moment and replied: “I can not possibly think of one more thing you can do for us!” And I could not.
And sure, Sharkeez loves PubClub.com but it does these drink specials and platters for any group, so when you’re wondering where to go when you’ve got a party gathering, call ‘em up and make it your spot.
Fins Up Sharkeez!
BUFFETT PARTY BUS REWIND: “I HEARD I WAS IN TOWN!”

If you missed it well TOO BAD! The party bus was full and we had a blast on it, roaming the one-of-a-kind tailgate scene that is a Jimmy Buffett concert and oh yeah, the actual concert too!
With Irvine Meadows closing for condos, Jimmy said he’s coming back the same time next year and playing on Catalina Island instead of Irvine! Guess I’ll have to organize a party boat, haha!
Thanks to Kona Brewing for providing the perfect Jimmy Buffett beers, Big Wave, for the bus! Here’s a tailgate party review of the final Buffett show at Irvine. Afterward myself, and several other Parrotheads, were saying that line from a Buffett song “I heard I was in town!”

THE CUBS ARE IN THE WORLD SERIES; L.A. BAR IS SILVO’S
Squeeze into Silvo’s with the WACCOS on Friday, Saturday & Sunday evenings. Games start at 5, but that’s a small place and will be packed, so get there early. The Cubs haven’t been in the World Series since 1945!
HALLOWEEN 2016 IN THE L.A. BEACH CITIES

Here’s a rundown of what’s happening in the South Bay throughout Halloween weekend, starting Thursday at Sharkeez and the 80s theme with the Spazmatics on Monday at Saint Rocke:

FRIDAY – SOUTH BAY SCREAM
The premier Halloween bash in the South Bay – still known to many as “the Portofino party” – is Friday. You know it and don’t get caught in your costume outside the door because it’s sold out by the time you get there on Friday nite. There’s a whopping 6 DJs, 1,000 people, three rooms, portable bars and a GREAT, FUN PARTY crowd! Berry Bly is the promoter. Tix are $45 on-line (plus a $5 service fee) and there might be some at the door but it’s best to get in advance.

SATURDAY – THE SLIP, BALEENKITCHEN & HOUSE PARTIES
The Slip has the band Sweet Weasel playing 9-1 with a costume contest & “spooky specials” on select drinks. The Portifino’s BALEENKitchen has a band, a raffle to win gift certificates at the bar/restaurant & a hotel stay. Costumes are encouraged, tho there is no contest. $5 cover.
I also suspect there will be a few people in costumes hanging out in the bar, on the patio and on the newly-opened rooftop bar at Shade Redondo Beach. Another good call is Pancho’s in Manhattan Beach, as well as the Hermosa Pier. Saturday is also a big night for house parties.
MONDAY – WEST HOLLYWOOD CARNAVAL BLOCK PARTY
This is not just the best Halloween party in Southern California but one of the best in the country! Some 500,000 people turn out for this annual block party along the Sunset Strip.
You’ll see incredible costumes here – many of the people work in costume design for film studios – and some very interesting ones, too. It’s called Carnaval and it’s one, too! There are beer areas in the street and the bars, of course, but us savvy South Bay people know to carry our concealed cocktails.

FISHBAR OPEN DURING OUTSIDE OURDOOR REMODEL
If you go by FishBar in Manhattan Beach you may think it’s closed because the outside is all boarded up, but not to worry it’s open and is just undergoing a new look on the outside of the building.
