It’s December, the time when spirits soar (because of all the spirits we are consuming, right!?) and there are tons of fun events happening all around the world.
This edition of the Party Report hits all the highlights with a particular focus on the ‘ol party stomping ground of the Los Angeles Beach Cities.
So let’s get rockin’ and rolling folks!
12 Bars Of Christmas, Hermosa Beach, CA

An annual tradition dating back to, well, even before I was ever in the Beach Cities. This year’s event is Friday, Dec. 10 and it kicks off one of the biggest party weekends of the year, which also has the King Harbor Boat Parade and the spectacular Manhattan Beach Holiday Fireworks!
Here’s the latest on the full schedule for the 12 Bars.

Redondo Beach King Harbor Boat Parade
By the time you sober up from the 12 bars, you’ll be ready for the Redondo Beach boat parade, hosted by King Harbor Yacht Club the next night. Here’s a rundown of the event, the time and the best viewing locations. Just remember, when you take those “concealed cocktails” to watch it, be cool about it.

Manhattan Beach Holiday Fireworks

And, by the time you’ve sobered up from BOTH the 12 Bars and boat parade, you’ll be ready to rock some more (with the help of Joe’s Band) for the spectacular fireworks on Sunday the 12th. This is one of the biggest, most fun events of the year and the fireworks are jaw-dropping and “oh wow!”
There are house parties all along The Strand and for the best one, well, if you know about it you know the drill.

New Warren Miller Film
Were you around “back in the day” when Warren Miller extreme ski films were a must-go-to event? Not just in the Beach Cities but all over L.A. He was the original. And still the best? By the way, his office used to be in a tiny spot on Pier Ave. Well they are not done yet as there is a new one out and it’s being shown at the Hermosa Beach Community Theater on Friday Dec. 10 at 7:30 p.m. Yeah, bummer it’s the same night as the 12 Bars; why don’t they consult PubClub on these things!? Tickets are $18-22.

Vegas, Baby! Sin City Events In December
For those looking for a road trip to Sin City, there’s tons of holiday happenings. Besides all this there’s the usual shenanigans and no doubt there’s a lot of Elvis Santas roaming around the Strip.
For Raiders fans, they play Dec. 26 (perfect lead-in to NYE in Vegas!) at Allegiant Stadium. They only play the Broncos but hey, they might win that one!
And on the 30th, all you transplanted Wisconsin fans can see your team take on Arizona State in the Las Vegas Bowl.

And Here In San Diego, Fun December Events & UCLA In The Holiday Bowl
There seems to be always something happening in San Diego. For instance, party buses flooding into Toro and $1 beers at American Junkie on Thursdays, both in the Gaslamp. Go to PubClub’s San Diego section for deets on both of those fun weekly parties.
And there’s a huge boat parade, too, on Sunday the 12th. It goes the entire length of San Diego Bay and is called the Parade of Lights.

On Tuesday, Dec. 28, U-C-L-A plays N.C. State in the Holiday Bowl. While that in itself may not be worth a road trip the fact that it’s in Petco Park, home of the Padres, makes it well worth considering for a fun pre-NYE party adventure. The stadium is in the Gaslamp and surrounded by fun bars.
And stick around for New Year’s Eve, for the San Diego party kings at Levinston Group have organized a huge NYE party with 10 rooms, 10 stages of bands, 15 DJs and, well, you get the idea. Yes this is going to be a PARTY!

Holiday Events Around The World

Huge boat parades, a major festival in London, a beer festival in Belgium and floating candles in Zurich which turns into an outdoor party. These are all fun holiday events taking place around the world. If you can’t go to any this year then use this guide to start planning a trip (or trips) for the future.
