Annual Block Party On the Sunset Strip Also Includes Bush, Public Enemy and Robbie Krieger of The Doors

The Sunset Strip Music Festival is bringing out it’s “Wild Side” in 2011 by having Mötley Crüe serve as its headliner band.
And there are sure to be plenty of “Girls, Girls, Girls.”
The annual party, which combines L.A.’s legendary music venues such as the Roxy and Whiskey A Go-Go with a block party along the Sunset Strip, features more than 50 bands on the street and in the venues.
This year’s event dates are Aug. 18-20.
Mötley Crüe will be on the main stage on Saturday, Aug. 20, along with Bush, Public Enemy, Matt & Kim, Escape the Fate, The Dirty Heads, Cobra Starship, Black Veil Brides, She Wants Revenge and Tribal Seeds.
It takes place on a blocked-off area of Sunset Blvd., between San Vicente Boulevard and Doheny Drive and attracts 30,000 during the three days, with more than 10,000 for Saturday’s block party.
The event starts at 1 p.m., and runs at some venues until 2 a.m. Bands play on the street from 2-11 p.m.
In addition to the bands and the venues, there are Bud Light beer gardens and food trucks in the street.
The three-day festival kicks off with a special tribute to Mötley Crüe at the House of Blues, where the band will be presented with the Elmer Valentine Award for their contributions to the history of the Sunset Strip. The City of West Hollywood will also have a special day for the band.

The festival continues on Friday with a full night of music in the venues.
The Viper Room will again serve as the official hub during the day of the street festival, with live remotes from 98.7fm and artist interviews. Select Sunset Strip businesses will also host parties, music showcases and gallery exhibits open to the public throughout the week.
Tickets are currently on sale via TicketWeb (www.ticketweb.com/SSMF). General admission August 20 street festival tickets are $55 for advance online sales and $70 at the door the day of the event.
A limited number of VIP street festival tickets, which include access to a VIP rooftop lounge and priority access to the venues, are being sold for for $120 in advance and a few three-day VIP Passes, which include access to all the venues on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights and VIP access to the Aug. 20 street festival) are $250.
