British Invasion Coming To America’s Top Sporting Event

The British rock band Coldplay is headlining the music for Super Bowl 50, and it’s a good play by the NFL.
After Bruno Mars and Katy Perry, the league is going with the the more toned-down sounds of Coldplay. This is a good middle-of-the-road act, one that’s not too trendy but not too old-fogie, either.
Coldplay, which now lives in Los Angeles and has just released a new album and is on tour, is a 90s band that’s a bit folksy with soft rock tones, kind of like Jack Johnson.
Super Bowl 50 is at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, CA. San Francisco is the host city and is planning big things, including an America’s Cup-style Fan Fest. Wines from Sonoma County will be served at all Super Bowl events.
The city and event organizers have set up a website, SFBaySuperBowl.com.
