Bud Light Seltzer Lemonade, beverages
If you were paying attention to the commercials during the NFL Wild Card Playoffs, then you probably noticed ads for Bud Light Seltzer Lemonade.
And your reaction might have been, “hmm, I didn’t know they had lemonade.”
Well that’s because it’s a newly-introduced product. Featuring a lemonade taste, it comes in four flavors: Original Lemonade, Black Cherry Lemonade, Strawberry Lemonade and Peach Lemonade.
Available nationwide on Jan. 18, it will come in variety packs of 12-ounce slim cans in 12-packs. Bud Light Seltzer Lemonade is brewed with lemonade flavor, cane sugar, natural fruit flavors and comes in at 100 calories with less than 1 gram of sugar and 5% ABV.
“After launching Bud Light Seltzer last year, it quickly became one of the top innovations in the entire category and in the history of the brand. We are excited to continue expanding our portfolio with the new Bud Light Seltzer Lemonade variety pack,” said Andy Goeler, Vice President of Marketing, Bud Light.
“Our Seltzer Lemonade marries the bold flavors of lemonade with the refreshing bubbliness of seltzer; this new offering is perfect for both established seltzer fans and those who are looking to give seltzer a try.”
The commercials that show people drinking and enjoying Bud Light Seltzer Lemonade while commenting that it tastes better than their grandmother’s lemonade. The playful controversy results in angering their grannies for choosing Bud Light Seltzer Lemonade over their own recipes, ending in mischievous consequences. The commercials, are titled “Tire” and “Family Jewelry.”
I am thoroughly disappointed in this commercial. It shows “Grandma” overhearing a comment regarding this beverage being better than hers and then implies that she takes her sharp needle and punctures something – possibly grandson’s auto tire.
In extremely poor taste and shown during Prime Time – what message does this send. I have always enjoyed the Budweiser commercials over the years, especially the horses. this is the first time I have found the contents distasteful.
