The Mai Tai is the quintessential rum drink and if you’re itching for one on National Rum Day (which is Aug. 16) then grab a backscratcher as your garnish and make one with this recipe.

This one is from celebrity chef Geoffrey Zakarian’s restaurant, Point Royal at The Diplomat Beach Resort, in Hollywood, Florida.

Its contains Bacardi rum, fresh lime juice, Cointreau, orgeat syrup and mint. Orgeat syrup is made from almonds, sugar, and rose water or orange flower water.

Naturally it’s served in a tiki glass like you would find in a tiki bar.

The Recipe

• 2 ounces of Bacardi Light
• 1 1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
• 1/2 ounce of Cointreau
• 1/2 ounce of simple syrup
• 1/2 ounce of orgreat syrup
• 4 mint leaves (muddled)
