Grape Stomping & Music In Southern California’s Wine Country
October is Rocktober for many people with Oktoberfest and Halloween.
But it’s also harvest time for grapes and in the Southern California wine country of Temecula Valley that’s cause for celebration. Below are events that will have you stomping not only grapes but to music and drinking wine.
• Sit, Somp & Play
Saturday, Oct. 5, 6-9 p.m.
Cost: $72
Location: Calloway Vineyards & Winery
Event Description: tickets include one glass of Callaway wine, dinner, dancing, wine specials and grape stomping
• Harvest Grape Stomp Party
Sunday, Oct. 13, 2-5 p.m.
Cost: $20 members, $25 guests
Location: Frangipani Estate Winery
Event Description: Live music, food, and plenty of wine, plus grape stomping, corn-hole and bocce ball tournaments. Reservations are required. RSVP by October 10. Call the winery at (951) 699-8845.
• Harvest Fest
Friday, Oct. 18 7-10 p.m.
Cost: $75
Location: Wilson Creek Winery
Event Description: Buffet dinner, pumpkin carving contest, grape stomping and live music. Wine & beer available for purchase, including some great wine specials only available that evening. Note: tickets for the concert are sold out so if you are planning on attending this event, contact the winery ahead of time.

Battle of the Burgers
Saturday, Oct. 19, Noon-3 p.m.
Cost: $20 advance, $25 at the door
Location: Pechanga Resort Casino
Event Description: Temecula Valley restaurants compete for the best burger, while the students from the Temecula Valley Unified School District work with Pechanga chefs to create their custom “loaded fries.” Those at the event get to taste all the burgers and fries then vote for their favorites.
Paws on the Promenade Spooktacular
Saturday, Oct. 26, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Cost: Free
Location: Outdoor Plaza at Promenade Temecula (in front of Edwards Regal Theater). The address is: 40820 Winchester Rd.
Event Description: A pet parade, fur-raising Howl-oween costume contest, table trick-or-treating, a vendor boo-tique, adoptable shelter dogs and raffle prizes. There is a $20 donation to Animal Friends of the Valley’s participate in the dog costume contest which includes a goody bag of pet and human treats for all participants.
