Bayou Festival, Chicago Stanley Cup Game, CD Release Bash & A House Party

This is turning into one busy party Saturday!
I have a festival to attend, a hockey game to watch with the WACCOs, a CD release event put on by my good friend and now have just learned of a house party.
Well, it’s just another summer day in L.A.!
The start of the day is the Bayou Festival in Long Beach. I call this a kind of “mini JazzFest” because, well that’s what it is, in fact. There’s blues and Zydeco music on stages, it’s held in a park (Rainbow Lagoon) and people picnic out and listen to the tunes. There’s Cajun food and, of course, all the beer you care to consume from the fine folks at Budweiser.

After an afternoon at the Bayou Festival, then it’s back to Manhattan Beach where I’ll jump on my bike and pedal – quickly – down the Strand to Silvio’s on the Hermosa Beach Pier. There, I’ll be joining, already in progress, the WACCOS. That’s a Chicago group that gathers to watch the Stanley Cup Finals. I’m not from Chicago but love hanging out and partying with Chicagoans. And if they lose, I’ll simply pop into the bar across the Pier, Fenner’s, which is a Boston bar!

Then I’ll hustle up the street to Saint Rocke, where my friend Soul Cole is hosting a CD release party. And anything that Soul Cole touches is great, and great fun. There’s also quite a bit of good-looking girls around Soul Cole. Happens to those DJ guys, ya know!
And to top off my Saturday, I’ve just got wind of a house party happening tonite. Plus, it’s on The Strand in Manhattan Beach! The Stand, for those of you who may not know, is RIGHT. ON. THE. BEACH.
And all this is within my reach. Not bad for the first Saturday of the summer!
Cheers!
