Those Running To Rescue Of Victims Deserve To Be Recognized
As frightening as the collapse of a deck at a sports bar in Miami was during the Heat-Spurs came was, it could have been a lot worse.
While there were two serious injuries that put people in the hospital, most people suffered cuts and bruises. The huge relief is that there were no fatalities.
And while we should recognize the rescue workers who were on the scene in minutes, we really need to give a big cheers to the patrons who immediately stepped into help the victims when it happened. They were the first responders and probably prevented things from being a lot worse for those who were on the deck. They are the unsung heroes.
I mean. put yourself into that situation. You’re watching a championship series game and suddenly a commotion happens but you don’t know what it is, so what’s your initial reaction? It could be a bar fight and for me, heck I just ignore it unless I’m caught up in it.
What caught the attention of the patrons I’m not sure, but to much their credit hey ran to the rescue of the people who spilled into Biscayne Bay. No questions asked, no bitching about being interrupted from watching the game, no worrying about missing a key play or leaving their drink unattended.
They are to be commended for their actions, and it gives all of us something to think about when we are having fun in a bar if something out of the ordinary happens.
The most important thing is a human being’s well being, and the patrons at Shucker’s recognized and reacted to it immediately.
Cheers to all of them.
