Performing is what she does and performing is what she misses.
In a live video chat with fans, super popular Colombian singer Shakira said that she “can’t wait to go on tour again.”
Like all singers, performers and bands, she is sidelined as the coronavirus pandemic has caused the cancelation of concerts around the world. At the end of November, tho, she reached out to fans via a virtual meet-up with 100 lucky #ShakiraPerfumes” contest winners.
In the session, she chatted with fans, answered their questions, took a suggestion for a song idea and at the end, told them that “I can’t wait to write songs, sing and record them. I can’t wait to go on tour again.”
While she is not able to tour, she is reaching out to fans and promoting her lineup of perfumes.
A video of her fan chat, along with a look at past concerts, can be see on Shikara’s website, www.shakira.com.
Shikara had a huge start to 2020, performing alongside Jennifer Lopez as part of the Super Bowl LIV halftime show. She rocked the crowd and the international TV audience by singing – and doing her traditional super-sexy dancing to accompany it – her songs “Chantaje” and “Hips Don’t Lie.”
That took place on Feb. 2 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla. Little did she, or anyone else, know that it would be on of the last shows for the year for many singers and performers.
With a COVID-19 vaccine now approved and being delivered for distribution in December, the expectation is that large events such as concerts can resume in early 2020, perhaps starting sometime in March.
