Alicia Keys, Billie Eilish, Mariah Carey, the Backstreet Boys, Tim McGraw and Billie Joe Armstrong Also Scheduled To Perform From Their Homes

Guess there are times when we all need to share a little pain
And ironing out the rough spots
Is the hardest part when memories remain
And it’s times like these when we all need to hear the radio
‘Cause from the lips of some old singer
We can share the troubles we already know
– Elton John, “Sad Songs”
And that’s the premise of a free “living room” concert Elton John is headlining and hosting on Sunday, March 29, during this COVID-19 #stayhome time.
The commercial-free show will air on Fox TV from 9-10 p.m., ET. It is put on by Fox and iHeart Radio.
Alicia Keys, Billie Eilish, Mariah Carey, the Backstreet Boys, Tim McGraw and Billie Joe Armstrong are also scheduled to take part in it.
They will perform using cell phones, cameras and audio equipment in their homes “to ensure the health and safety of all involved,” according to a statement from the organizers. It will certainly be quite interesting to see these artists play and sing in an their own environments rather than on a big concert stage.
The show replaces the iHeartRadio Music Awards, which were originally scheduled to take place in this time slot but was canceled.
Along with the music, the show will honor health professionals, first responders and others for “putting their lives in harm’s way to help their neighbors and fight the spread of the virus,” the organizers stated in announcing the show.
Those tuning in will be asked to support two of the charitable organizations aiding victims and first responders during the pandemic: Feeding America and First Responders Children’s Foundation.
