Saint Rocke In Hermosa Beach Toasts The King Of Rock ‘n Roll

Elvis Aaron Presley entered the world on that date and became a rock ‘n roll icon, and each year his home Graceland, holds a multi-day celebration to recognize the life of the famous singer and hip swiveler.
In Hermosa Beach CA, the live music venue Saint Rocke is also celebrating. It is bringing in the Elvis tribute band Graceband for a night of “Burning Love” to the King.
The doors open at 6, the show starts at 7; tickets are $10.
Graceband is unique among Elvis imitators in that it’s not a small ensemble but a full 12-piece band complete with horns and backup singers. They like to put on a show just like Elvis did when he toured and had his long-running Vegas residency.
They open with “C.C. Rider,” with the Graceband Elvis walking onto the stage and opening up his cape, him later handing out scarves to the girls as he sings a song such as “Love Me Tender,” and gyrating to the likes of “Hound Dog.”
Other songs in the sets often include “Suspicious Minds,” “The Wonder Of You,” “Can’t Help Falling In Love,” “A Big Hunk O’ Love,” “Jailhouse Rock” and “Viva Las Vegas.”
It’s a high-energy, enthusiastic show.
Graceband shares the stage with A Certain Groove, which takes rock and pop songs and turns them into funk and soul remixes.
