Tortuga Music Festival, Bonnaroo & Pemberton Festival Dates Lineups & Details

One of the hottest trends in the music industry now is not necessarily concerts – and with ticket prices for big acts topping $100 for mid-tier seats it’s easy to see why – but music festivals.
There are so many of them all over the world that it’s impossible to know about many of them. Well here’s three taking place in North America that you definitely want to consider for 2017.
Tortuga Music Festival
April 7-9, Fort Lauderdale, FL

Country music at the beach. Doesn’t get much more Southern than that, at least in Florida.
The festival is literally right on the beach, with stages on one end and Atlantic Ocean on the other, and tens of thousands of people packed in between the two. The headliner in 2017 is Kenny Chesney (of course) and the mood is definitely one of “No Shirt, No Shoes, No Problem.”
Held at Fort Lauderdale Beach Park, it goes from 1:30-10:30 p.m. As you can imagine, the scene is one of a big beach party. Florida-style. The only bummer about this event is you can’t bring in your own food or drinks or coolers (of course you can’t!) but you can bring your beach towel.
Tickets: GA $99/day, $229/3 days. VIP (includes beer, wine, cocktails and a swimming pool by the main stage) $399/day, $999/3 days.

Bonnaroo
June 8-11, Manchester (Halfway Between Nashville & Chattanooga)

This is a mega show with 30+ bands each day and which in 2017 features U2 (on Friday) and the Red Hot Chili Peppers (Saturday). There’s camping (recommended) and shuttles from Nashville and Murfreesboro.
The location is the middle of nowhere, TN, a 700-acre farm in Manchester and as this post is written by an East Tennessee native, when it’s stated this is in the middle of nowhere, trust that it’s in the middle of nowhere. It’s halfway between Nashville and Chattanooga, each an hour away so you are fairly close to civilization. Although at this event with tens of thousands of people, this is the place to be in Tennessee.
The name of the festival comes from the Creole term meaning good stuff. Organizers suggest you bring an extra clown nose. Hmmm.
Tickets: GA $324.50 (plus fees), VIP $1,648.50 (sold in twos only)

Pemberton Festival
July 13-16, Pemberton British Columbia, Canada

About 30 minutes north of Whistler is a flat, wide-open area known as Pemberton. Which means it’s the prefect place to hold a huge summertime outdoor concert! Multiple stages have bands and even comedy acts in a field framed by Mt. Curry.
“It’s one of the best music festivals in North America!,” PubClubber Whistler Phil exclaimed to PubClub.com in a “get your fanny up here text,” which is how we found out about this festival in the first place.
The event has a campground (recommended) and shuttles from Whistler.
As of this post, the 2017 lineup has yet to be announced but we’ll be updating it here. Last year’s event feature Pearl Jam and Snoop Dogg. In all there’s close to 100 bands.
Theres’a long line of “no’s” as to what you cannot bring into the concert area, the main ones being alcohol and food (of course, since they sell it on the grounds), coolers, chairs, glow sticks, large flags or poles. What you can bring is is your party attitude.
Tickets (CDN): GA $354 advance/369. VIP: $879 ,$899
