Fins Up For Southern California Parrotheads
Jimmy Buffett returns to Irvine Meadows in Irvine, CA, as part of his 2016 tour on Oct. 22. It will be his second performance of the fall in Southern California, as he’s part of the huge KAABOO Music Festival in San Diego’s Del Mar Race Track in mid-September.
The Southern California Parrotheads will be flocking there by the motorhome and party bus loads, as this event is loads of fun, whether or not you like Buffett’s music.
Irvine Meadows is a perfect Buffett tailgate venue because of its huge parking lot. If things are the same in 2016 as they were in 2015, the parking lot will not open until 5 p.m., a ridiculously late admission time.
But Parrotheads know how to party and by 5:30, last year there were rows and rows of motorhomes liked up with tiki bars pouring boat drinks, high-speed blenders churning margaritas, “fin spins” for girls and a full-out party in the rows between the motorhomes.
This continued right up until Buffett took the stage at sometime around 8:30. There were no partying or tailgate restrictions, other than the delayed entry time (in the past, it’s been as early as noon but most often around 3).
PubClub.com will once again be doing a party bus from Hermosa Beach. Payment and cost will be posted later but we’ll meet at Sharkeez on the Hermosa Pier at noon and the cost will be approximately $35 for guys, $30 for girls. It will not include tickets to the show and you can bring your own Buffett booze on the bus.
