Parrotheads Would Flock To A Beach Party Concert Concept
Beyonce, U2, Springsteen and even Spears.
They have all been mentioned as possible replacements for the Rolling Stones as headliner for the 50th annual New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. A month before the 2019 event was due to open with the blockbuster band leading the charge, the Stones announced they were forced to cancel their entire 2019 tour – including their May 2 show at JazzFest – because Mick Jagger needs a procedure on his heart.
But PubClub.com has a built-in, easy and laid back solution and, quite frankly, the person who should have been the headliner from the start: Jimmy Buffett.
The Rolling Stones were scheduled to play on Thursday, May 2, with Buffett there on Sunday, May 5. If they are going to blow it out “Stones style,” then they should allow Parrotheads to bring in motorhomes somewhere on or near the grounds so they can party Buffett-style.
There is nothing in music like a Buffett tailgate party and there are few festivals as great as JazzFest, so combining the two would make for the ultimate tropical caper experience. Have him perform a two-hour show, just as he does at his venues on his annual tour.
Buffett fans flock to his concerts and by creating a Buffett concert atmosphere – rather than a one-hour show as part of a full day at JazzFest –organizers would create a dynamic 50th anniversary event.
Heck, bring in sand and even build a big temporary pool and make it a beach party.
Buffett and New Orleans have a long history together too, and the Rolling Stones have no real tie-in with the Big Easy. So this makes sense from a historical and cultural standpoint.

The Rolling Stones really aren’t New Orleansesque and Mick Jagger’s undergoing heart surgery and probably won’t be available. It should be Jimmy Buffett!!!
