California Desert Town Has A Lot To Offer Visitors

Lancaster?
Not the medieval one in England but the dot of one in the Southern California high desert on the way from Los Angeles to Mammoth.
Other than perhaps a making a quick stop for an In-N-Out burger on the way to or from that ski resort, I had never considered stopping in Lancaster. Not certainly for any amount of time, anyway, unless I happen to be zipping around in a race car on the nearby Willow Springs Racetrack.
But you know what – you don’t know what you don’t know, so I accepted the invitation.
And I was glad I did, too.
For starters, they sent a limo for me. Secondly, they took me for dinner – at the awesome Rio Brazilian Grill – and then out for drinks.

There was a classic car show rolling down a wide street called The Blvd., and on this Friday night, the entire area was jumping with action. The Blvd has several nightlife spots, including Kinetic Brewing Company and a really cool wine bar called Pour d’Vino.
There is also an air show in Lancaster, California poppy fields, a “singing road,” wineries and craft breweries, one of which was the regular hangout of “Gunny,” R. Lee Ermey.
Hoo-rah!
Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by Lancaster. So much so, that I wrote 14 stories on it (link below) and I would most definitely recommend it as a nice one- or two-day excursion from Los Angeles.

Go back and spend a weekend in the AV. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised. Thanks for the comment!
Sound like the area is growing, I live there for five years before relocating to Santa Barbara for better opportunity in engineering field. I don’t mind spend a weekend in the AV area.
Cheers!
