Thoughts & Memories From A Child To Today

Santa Clause no longer comes down the chimney at our house.
He no longer drinks the Coca Cola and cookies we put out for him as kids.
Nor does he leave cool gifts under the tree like a sled – yeah, a sled! – games or my favorite team’s football uniform I loved to wear until I wore it out playing in the yard.
But Santa does still come to our house. It’s just a little different now that I’m an adult.
These days, Santa does not bring many gifts of material value, things like PlayStation or the latest Apple gadget. What Santa brings comes not from the mall or Amazon but from the heart.
Our family does not really exchange gifts anymore. Rather, we gather as a family. Since I’m in California and others are scattered about, it is about the only time of the year we get together as a group.
I don’t need any gifts anyway. I have enough electronics and my closets and drawers are full of clothes (many of them bearing the PubClub.com logo, of course!). Certainly mom and dad don’t need anything in these areas, either. What they want – and what they get – is the company and love of their children and grandchildren.
As a kid, I used to go into my sister’s room at 5 or 6 in the morning. I was too excited to sleep, so I would shake her and say “let’s go into the living room and see what Santa brought us!”
She would hesitate and tell me to get lost, but eventually we walked down the hallway and there, in the living room, was a sensational scene. It was full of toys and joy.
Today, the living room is also filled with joy, tho for different reasons. I hope yours is, too.
Merry Christmas from PubClub.com!
