Join The Party When Traveling In The USA In The Fall

If you’re not from America and are walking down quiet streets on a fall Sunday wondering where everyone is, the answer is simple; the are watching the NFL.
This is especially true in big cities that have teams.
There’s also a few places where people won’t be at the games but in the bars, cities with a lot of transplants like Atlanta, Los Angeles, Miami/Ft. Lauderdale, and New York City.
This is because the NFL is as much to American culture as hamburgers on the grill, wearing baseball caps while traveling in Europe and a slice of apple pie.
Americans are glued to TVs or packing stadiums, watching their games with such passion you would think every game is the Super Bowl. They yell, they scream, they cheer and they sing.
They dress in the jerseys of their favorite teams and favorite players, they study the team as much as the players study the playbook and they talk about the game all week right up until kickoff.
If you’re traveling in America on a Sunday in the fall, I suggest not to ignore this love of the NFL but to embrace it.
If you’re in a city with a team, go to the stadium.
Take some food and drinks and tailgate with the fans.
Walk around and soak up the atmosphere. You don’t have to go into the game to enjoy it, but go to the game.
Just before kickoff, find a sports bar and watch the game with the fans. Just be sure and cheer for the home team!
This will provide you with more culture, and a look inside the true America and Americans, than visiting any museum.
Cheers!
