Area Hotels Offering Rates As Low As $135 With Two-Night Minimum

Many places double their rates and understandably so; it’s one of the busiest times for hotels in the nation’s capitol city. The inauguration of the President of the United States – take a deep breath, it’s Donald Trump – is Friday, Jan. 20.
But there is an alternative. In fact, one hotel in the area is offering rates of just $135. It’s 40 miles from D.C., and can be reached by train. The catch? Well, it’s in Baltimore.
The Radisson Hotel Baltimore Downtown-Inner Harbor is offering those rates on a first-come, first-serve basis to tho those who book on-line at: www.radisson.com.
And it’s not quite as far-fetched of an idea as it sounds; staying in Baltimore or other surrounding areas offers a far less expensive alternative to being in D.C.
“Just like four years ago, our phones are already starting to ring for groups and individual travelers that want a city experience just not a city price tag,” said Michelle Donovan, Complex General Manager of the Radisson Hotel Baltimore Downtown-Inner Harbor.
People can use the MARC train, which has a direct line into downtown Washington, DC.
The Radisson Hotel Baltimore Downtown-Inner Harbor requires only a minimum two-night stay, half of the four night requirements that have become standard for inaugurations in Washington, D.C. Group packages include options such as breakfast to go, so you can arrive at the National Mall on a full stomach.
There are many other areas to stay, too, that are around Washington, but Baltimore has a harbor, crabcakes and beer and is a good “secondary city” to be for the event. Now,if you’re going to any of the inauguration parties, then you’ll probably have to suck it up financially and stay in D.C.
