Unique Travel & Wellness Experience Available In 2020

A new hotel, the Arctic Bath and Spa in Sweden, offers wellness lodging on the water. Not just that, but it freezes into the Lule River in the winter and floats on top of it in the summer.
Designed by architects Bertil Harström and Johan Kaupp, the new hotel and spa is now taking reservations for when it opens in the winter of 2020. It is located in Lulea in Swedish Lapland.
“The opening of the Arctic Bath has been eagerly anticipated over the last year ever since plans were first announced,” said Jonny Cooper, founder of Off the Map Travel, which also has the Treehotel and is responsible for reservations for this property, as well. “The serenity of the location combined with this distinctive wellness experience makes this a first in the travel world.”
A stay in the hotel is comprised of six detached floating “cabins” and six additional cabins on land, plus the Arctic Bath inspired by the timber floating era which recalls how felled trees were transported downriver for processing. Both the spa and the rooms float on or are frozen into the water, depending on the season.
The spa complex and cabins float on waters ranging from 6.5 to 14 feet deep and are connected by floating walkways.
Spa treatments consist of alternating cold-water and hot-water dips and sauna, yoga, meditation, and cleansing sessions such as crystal healing.
A sample 3-day Off the Map Travel/Arctic Bath itinerary includes accommodations in a floating cabin, breakfast daily, nightly five-course dinner, a guided Northern Lights hunt, transfers and spa access.
With prices starting at £3995 (about $5,000 USD) based on double occupancy, this is not budge accommodations..
