With dates of several sporting events being shuffled – or events behind downright canceled – due the COVID-19 pandemic, PubClub.com is posting the updated information on this website.
Three of the four majors in golf have been moved to later dates and one has been canceled. Below are the new dates of these events.
• PGA Championship
New Dates: Aug. 6-9
Location: Harding Park, San Francisco
• U.S. Open
New Dates: Sept. 17-20
Location: Winged Foot, Mamaroneck, N.Y.
• The Masters
New Dates: Nov. 9-15
• The Open at Royal St. George’s (British Open)
CANCELED
Another major sporting event in Britain that has been canceled for 2020 is Wimbledon.
Also, the Kentucky Derby has been moved from its traditional first Saturday in May to Saturday of Labor Day Weekend.
The Indy 500 has given up its traditional Sunday of Memorial Day date for one in August and has added a double-header with NASCAR on the Fourth of July, which is on a Saturday in 2020.
So while the coronavirus has caused a major shift in everything from socializing to sports, many of the games are still going being played, just at different times of the year.
