Hashtags Will Prompt National Flags

This is the social Olympics – as in social media – and Twitter has released its list of emojis for each country during the Rio 2016 Summer Games.
Tweeting with the three-letter country code hashtags will trigger flag emojis for each of the countries. It’s another cool element that Twitter adds to its already-popular app.
While the country flags and sport icons make up most of the emojis, there are more general hashtags that go along with the Olympic Games, medals and the ceremonies.
Athletes and fans have already started to get in the spirit of the games by promoting their team or their sport with the hashtags and emojis. You’ll have to follow your individual country’s social media accounts as well as those of your favorite athletes, all of whom have social media accounts.
By tagging an athlete or team, you may even get a response and would that not be cool to be communicating directly with someone who just won your country a Gold Medal!?
One could spend the entire Games watching your phone as much – or more than – NBC to keep track of the Olympics due to the popularity of social media.
The Games run from Aug. 4-21. The official Twitter account of Rio 2016, at least in English, is: @Rio2016_en
The photo with this post is a complete list of all the Twitter hashtags of each country in the Summer Olympics, which will automatically bring up that country’s flag.
