Cancellations & Postponements Of Concerts, Festivals, St. Patrick’s Day & Sports Leagues

Around the world, the coronavirus pandemic has shut down travel, canceled concerts and music festivals and brought sports to a halt.
And it’s also having an effect on nightlife. Here is a rundown of the closing of bars and nightclubs, cancelation or postponements of concerts and festivals, St. Patrick’s Day and sports events and leagues that have suspended play.
All bars and nightclubs are closed until further notice.
Athens, Greece
The following nightclubs have voluntarily closed thru March:
ESTATE – Rouvas-Rocco-Paparizou
Statement: “After 6 months of tremendous success, ESTATE is in the uncomfortable position of completing the program for preventative reasons. By participating in the effort to limit the spread of coronavirus. Thank you very much.”
YTON – Nikos Vertis, TEATRO – Paola-Kourkoulis, HOTEL ERMOU – Anna Vissi, FRANGELICO – Markopoulos-Menidiatis, BOX – Christos Mastoras, VOTANIKOS – Notis Sfakianakis, ENASTRON – Gabri-Sabanis-Demy.
Las Vegas
All MGM Resorts and Wyn Resorts properties have closed their “dayclub” pool parties and nightclubs. For a complete list of affected bars and casinos, click here.
California
Bars and nightclubs – and all public places outside of shopping areas – have an imposed limit of 250 people.
St. Patrick’s Day
Parades canceled in Boston; Chicago; New York City; San Diego; Savannah, GA, and all other USA cities.
College Spring Break (USA)

Concerts & Festivals

• Coachella & Stagecoach moved to October. Click here.
• Lollapalooza Argentina postponed to later in the year
• The Tomorrowland Winter in France EDM festival has been canceled
• Concert promoters Live Nation & AEG have suspended all of its tours
• The Who postponed their UK/Ireland tour, scheduled to start March 16 in Manchester
• Pearl Jam has postponed its tour
• Milie Cyrus has pulled out of the World Tour Brushfire Relief Concert. She was the headline performer.
• The Zac Brown Band has postponed its tour
• Carlos Santana has canceled performances
• Green Day has canceled its Asian tour
• Machine Head postponed the second European leg of their 25th anniversary tour, which was scheduled to take off in Zaragoza, Spain, on April 19.
• New Orleans JazzFest, Las Vegas Electric Daisy Carnival, still on a scheduled
Sports
• The NBA, NHL, MLS and all major sports organizations have suspended seasons until further notice.
• March Madness, the NCAA men’s basketball tournament championship, has been canceled.
• The Masters has been postponed.
• College football spring practices have been postponed until further notice
• The NFL Draft, April 23-25 in Las Vegas, is still on as scheduled.
