Everything You Need To Know About The Fourth Of July In The South Bay
By Kevin Wilkerson, PubClub.com South Bay Blogger
It’s the 4th of July edition and as I’m writing this on a sunny afternoon in Hermosa Beach a volleyball tournament is about to break out into a party – I can just FEEL it!
In fact, I can already feel the energy up and down The Strand. It’s going to be THAT kind of a weekend!
So here’s what’s happening and the usual PubClub.com insight into things.
SATURDAY
Barley, which absolutely rocked the Redondo Beach Festival last weekend (so did you, Jermey Buck!) with an incredible two-hour set, is at the Lighthouse for its usual 4-8 gig (no cover). Barley is also at Saint Rocke on Monday, followed by the Spazmatics ($15).
That night, Tatiana – the Brazilian Bombshell – is at The Slip starting at 9 (no cover, of course).
SUNDAY
Sunday acoustic night at Tower 12. Great crowedI I was there last week and wrote this review.
Also, WISE and the $3-4 drinks start at 5 at Patrick Molloy’s. Note that the Mermaid’s Happy Hour ends at 5 on weekends.
Also remember that HBYC now has Jell-O Shots on Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays. And for just $2!
MONDAY
Ironman signups all day at Tower 12.
4TH OF JULY – THE IRONMAN
The Ironman stars the party scene here. Look for PubClub TV at this year’s event!
Below is a link to the Ironman with a lot of photos but also check out the second link. It’s a post about what the event is really all about and what it means from a competitor’s standpoint. It will teach you something about it you probably did not know and will likely make you appreciate it more. I know it had that effect on me.

4th OF JULY PARTIES & SCENE
Here’s a rundown of the 4th in the South Bay, which of course is primarily in Hermosa:

If you’re hosting a party you’re going to get the inevitable party crashers but I have a way of dealing with them – cut off their supply!

4th OF JULY FIREWORKS TOP VIEWING LOCATIONS
Here’s a rundown after the sundown on where to watch the fireworks, including a link to both an afternoon pool party and evening fireworks viewing party at Shade Redondo:

Also, be sure to look to the north to see if you can catch any glimpses of the Marina del Rey fireworks.
That’s it for this 4th of July weekend edition of the PubClub.com South Bay Party Report! Be sure and take part in PubClub’s next Twitter chat by the way; the one on Thursday previewing this weekend had 179 Tweets in half an hour! The next one is Thursday, July 13 and the topic is one my favorite destinations in the world, the the Greek Islands!
Also, check my Twitter @pubclub and Insta – PubClub – for updated Tweets and photos from the weekend! Of course, you can get the feed from both on the website, PubClub.com Where The South Bay – And The World – Goes To Party For The 4th Of July!!!!
Cheers!
