Yachtly Crew Among Lineup Of Bands In Seaside Lagoon

The Redondo Beach Lobster Festival may be off the calendar for 2018, but in its place on the same weekend in the same location is a new event called Lobster Rock.
It takes place Sept. 21-23 inside Seaside Lagoon in Redondo Beach, CA.
There are beer and wine tents; Stella is a sponsor so expect beers from AB-InBev and music from bands and a DJ. Plus lobster, of course.
Here’s the lineup of bands:
• Friday
DJ at opening
6:45 p.m. – Dan Kelly of Fortunate Youth
7:15 p.m. – Kaleo Wassman of Pepper
8 p.m. – Tomorrow’s Bad Seeds
• Saturday
DJ in afternoon
3 p.m. – Freestone
4:3- p.m. – Righteous & The Wicked (Red Hot Chili Peppers tribute)
6 p.m. – Hoist The Colors
7:30 p.m. – Save Ferris
• Sunday
DJ at opening
2 p.m. – Petty Or Not (Tom Petty tribute)
4 p.m. – Twisted Gypsy (Fleetwood Mac tribute)
6 p.m. – Yachtly Crew
The only band I’ve heard in this lineup is Yachtly Crew and can tell you they are fun; they play “yacht rock” which is becoming a very popular type of party music along the coast here in Los Angeles, as well as in Florida.
Tickets are $20 each day, plus a $2.66 service fee if you order on-line. A full weekend ticket is $50, plus a $3.56 service fee.
The event will feature full lobster dinners from Quality Seafood for $22, or $40 for two. There are also lot of other food options such as a lobster roll from Hudson House, lobster mac ‘n cheese from Brew Port Tap House and non-lobster food from area restaurants (Silvio’s, Standing Room, Mamma D’s and more).

The website, in true promoter-speak, has this regarding food: “radical vendors, and the MOST INCREDIBLE lobster and seafood offerings the South Bay has to offer brought to you directly from the chefs and restaurants that created them.”
