A Fun Ride & Accommodations By Fisherman’s Wharf

There are a lot of fun things to do in Monterey, CA, and the creative folks at the fine and friendly Portola Hotel & Spa seem to have a package for every one of them.
The latest involves buzzing around in a tiny convertible of sorts – perhaps the ultimate way to see Monterey Bay.
It’s the Sea Car Tours Package and it involves the rental of one of those small “cars” that are popular for sightseeing around the world, as well as other benefits.
“At the Portola Hotel & Spa we are proud to partner with local businesses like Sea Car Tours to create unique experiences for our guests and locals alike,” said Janine Chicourrat, Portola’s General Manager.
The Sea Car Tours – conveniently located right out the Portola’s door – lets you zip around the area to Fisherman’s Wharf and Cannery Row, as well a little beond along the drop-dead gorgeous coast in neighboring Pacific Grove its jaw-dropping Lover’s Point.
Plus, you get to come back and stay at the Portola Hotel, a luxury property with a family-run attitude.
Rooms are nautically themed, some have full views of Monterey Bay, and there are two on-site restaurants, Jack’s and the more casual Peter B’s, which produces award-winning beers. Jack’s, by the way, is a good place to have some Monterey, Napa and Sonoma County wines for Happy Hour.
It is also only steps from two of Monterey’s wine tasting rooms, one out the front door and the other out the side door. The Portola is located between downtown’s Alvarado Street and Fisherman’s Wharf, an ideal location in Monterey.
The package includes breakfast for two at Jack’s and the Portola’s signature chocolate chip cookie upon checking into the property. There is also free WiFi for guests.
The package is good through Dec. 31. Room rates, as any traveler know, can vary considerably, but use low to mid $300/night as a general range for this package.
