Viewing Locations, BART & Public Transportation & Top Tips For Team & Fans’ Celebration
If you’re planning to go, here’s five very important things to know before you go to it. Some officials are expecting a million people at it and while that seems a bit ambitious of a prediction, it will indeed be packed with fans. The parade is scheduled to start at 10 a.m., and is followed by a rally at the end of the parade, which is at the Henry J. Kaiser Convention Center.
Here is a Google map of the area.
1.) Fans can begin arriving and lining up as early as 4 a.m.. Early arrivals will be directed to Lakeshore and 12th Street.
2.) So many people are expected, the Warriors are advising people to pick either watching the parade or be at the rally. You won’t be able to do both, simply because there will be so many fans it will be impossible to move from one area to the other.
3.) There is an overflow viewing area located at Lake Merritt Blvd. & E 12th St., which will feature a live feed of both the the parade and the rally.
4.) Take public transportation. BART will be providing rush hour service all day and will be using every available train. AC Transit buses will be rerouted in downtown Oakland as a result of the event.
5.) Behave Yourself! This is a championship celebration, not an excuse to smash and set things on fire. There will be a very large police presence and anyone caught doing any kind of violent behavior will be arrested and charged with a crime.
The Parade Route
The parade starts at Broadway and 11th Street, then turn rights on Harrison to 19th St, and right on Lakeside Drive, ending on Oak and proceeding to the Henry J. Kaiser Convention Center.
