Thanksgiving Eve is one of the top nightlife nights of the year. In San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter, which is pretty much like New Year’s Eve on any given weekend anyway, it’s a weekend night on Hump Day.
This year, in addition to all the usual shenangans, there are two all-you-can-drink events happening at two restaurant/bars.
barleymash San Diego
The highly popular bar – a “go-to” place in the Gaslamp – has catered food and an open bar from 6-9. The “occasion” is the Rady Children’s Tipoff college basketball tournament featuring USC, Oklahoma, Iowa and Seton Hall. In case you are wondring why, well, the two-day tournament (Nov. 23-24) is in San Diego. It’s down the steps at Ginger’s and the price is $75. Tickets are available here.
Lionfish San Diego

This is a rub-your-eyes-did-I-read-it-correctly deal at an upscale restaurant in the 5-star Pendry hotel.
It is having a pre-Thanksgiving meal on Wednesday, Nov. 22. The cost is just $55 and it includes unlimited Titos, Casamigos and Jack Daniels cocktails. It starts at 5 p.m., and is good until 10 p.m. The meal, from Executive Chef and James Beard Smart Catch leader JoJo Ruiz, involves an extra crispy turkey bucket with sesame biscuits, roasted garlic negi mashed potatoes and truffle mac and cheese. The full menu will also be available.
By the way, if you don’t believe me, I have confirmed this twice. Reservations are recommended.
Decsions, decisions, right!?
