Glassbox, the elevated sushi restaurant in Del Mar, CA, is hosting a sake dinner on June 5.

It is a 5-course pairing featuring premium selections of sake hosted by Mio Okura alongside special creations from San Diego’s award-winning chef Ethan Yang. The cost is $75 per person.

Okura is a Sake Specialist/Certified Sake Sommelier for Republic National Distributing Company. She was born in Tokyo and has more than 20 years of experience in the sake industry. The food pairing will be hosted by Glassbox’s Owner and Executive Chef, Ethan Yang.

Each dish and sake pairing has been crafted to showcase the artistry and skill of Okura and Yang. The pairing includes Seafood Fritter, Poached Scallops, Nigiri Tasting, Robata Skewers, Surf and Turf, and the choice of matcha, black sesame, or raspberry cake. The sake pairings are Fukucho Seaside Sparkling Sake, Hana Kizakura, Konteki Pearls of Simplicity, Amanoto Heaven’s Door, Moonstone Pear Sake, and Diamond Road to Osaka Nigori.

Glassbox gets its name because the staff and customers are in a “glass box” environment, making for an elevated sushi experience.  Owner Chef Eaton says that “the beauty of taste and art are synonymous, and we want to make sure our customers experience both.”

Del Mar Sake Dinner is a not-to-be-missed event. Expand your palate, immerse yourself in Japanese culture, and create unforgettable memories at this exclusive dining experience.
