A Pre-Mardi Gras Gathering For Jimmy Buffett Fans

For those who just can’t wait for Mardi Gras, there’s Pardi Gras.

A multi-day festival in January, it includes a pub crawl, Jimmy Buffett-style bands and a tropical-attired crowd that just can’t seem to get enough bar time. The site: New Orleans. Of course.

The 2026 event is Jan. 15-18. For those who miss Jimmy Buffett. and his music, this is the next best thing because it’s four days of TropRock music, plus a block party on the 700 block of Bourbon Street on Saturday from 12:30-3:30 with music by Jerry Diaz and then The Boat Drunks. On Friday, there is a Bourbon Street bar crawl from 4-5:30 p.m.

The bar venues for the week are as follows:

• Top of the Trop – Upstairs at the Tropical Isle Bourbon
• Tropical Isle Bourbon – Located at the corner of Bourbon and Orleans
• Tropical Isle Original – Located at the corner of Bourbon and Toulouse
• B-Mac’s – 819 St. Louis St.
• Orleans Grapevine – 720 Orleans St.
• Honky Tonk – 727 Bourbon St.
• St. Joseph Room – First floor of the Bourbon-Orleans Hotel

As a bonus, one of the New Orleans Mardi Gras parades happens to be taking place in the French Quarter on Saturday, Jan. 17, the Krewe Mosaique, starting at 6 p.m.
