Highlight Is The Start Of Summerfest, The World’s Largest Music Festival
In sports, the term ” tweener” is used to describe an individual that is between two sets of skill levels and thus, cannot quite excel in either. The player is, say, too small to play forward in basketball but not quick enough to be a guard. He’s a “tweener.”
And that’s what I think of June. It’s a “tweener” month.
That’s because it’s in between two wild months with nothing really special about itself.
June does start out with the Union Street Festival in San Francisco, which is pretty cool. But it’s no Bay to Breakers. And it finishes with the first days of Summerfest in Milwaukee, the world’s largest music festival that’s a great event with tons of bands on multiple stages on multiple days (June 26-30 and continuing July 2-7).
But in between, for events it’s as barren as the Australian Outback.
I suppose you could look at it as a month to make your own fun. A time when you are not burdened, as it were, by having to plan for a big event. You can just let things happen in a kind of spontaneous inspiration, or go create something fun. Travel. Go to Las Vegas. Hawaii. New Orleans.
The Greek Islands!
Or you could use it as a restful period, a time to catch the breath, get in some exercise, cleanse the body and mind.
Because, the Fourth of July is right around the corner!
Cheers!
