Beer & Wine Festival, U2 Tribute Band In Lake Arrowhead, Final Hermosa Beach Summer Concert

This Weekend’s Top Event
• MTV VMA Awards
Los Angeles hosts the 2017 VMA Music Awards and there’s a series of free shows at Avalon in Hollywood building up to Sunday’s awards. Here’s the details:
Top Suggested Weekend Road Trip
• Lake Arrowhead Summer Concerts. This is where you’ll find PubClub this weekend, dock-hopping on a friend’s pontoon boat on Lake Arrowhead with evenings spent at the free concerts in the Village. There’s an Abba tribute band on Friday with Joshua Tree, a U2 tribute band, playing Saturday.

Thursday’s Top Event
• South Bay Jam. Join the South Bay’s top musicians for this weekly jam session at Standing Room in Hermosa Beach. Starts at 9:30. Free.
Friday’s Top Events
• The Spazmatics are at Saint Rocke. $15 cover
Saturday’s Top Events
• Sunset Deck Party. Smackfest Events is hosting a party on the pool deck of Bay Club in Redondo Beach with a couple of beers, Electric Sky wine and cocktails. There’s a DJ and games. It goes from 3:30-6:30 and space is limited so be sure and get your ticket in advance ($25).

• Venice Beach Music Fest. A series of bands on the Venice Boardwalk from 11:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m. The location is Windward Plaza, Windward and the sand. It’s free; just pull up your bike and groove to the sounds of the music.
• The Lakers farm team, the South Bay Lakers, are holding a Select-A-Seat event from 11 am.-4 p.m. It’s an invitation to see the new training center and pick your seats in the arena for the upcoming SB Lakers season.

• Ferris Bueller’s Day Off is the (free) Hermosa Beach movie on the beach. Starts at dusk. Bring your food & drinks and spread out on the sand.
• The Pine Mountain Logs are at Saint Rocke. $22 cover
Sunday’s Top Event
• Hermosa Beach Concerts On The Beach. The final one is this Sunday and it’s going to be a big one. It features Super Diamond. Here’s everything you need to know about this awesome event. Besides the fact it’s free!
