If anyone knows as much about cocktails as PubClub.com – heck, maybe even more – it’s Sammy Hagar, the Red Rocker. After all, he’s got a song called “Mas Tequila.”
And as someone who loves living in the sunshine getting a tan and tossing back a few, he naturally has a few personal favorites for the warmest time of the year. Here are some of Sammy Hagar’s favorite summertime cocktails made the Sammy way.
They are available at his Cabo Wabo bar in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and the recently-opened Cabo Wabo Beach Club in Huntington Beach, CA. There are also locations in airports in Waikiki Beach (naturally), Maui (of course), Las Vegas (a given) and Cleveland.
Piña Coladas
A sweet taste of Aloha in a glass, the Pineapple Piña Colada is made with Sammy’s Beach Bar Platinum Rum, Coco López Piña Colada Mix and fresh pineapple juice. This tasty tropical gem will have you daydreaming of the sun, sand and surf of Hawaii.
The Macadamia Piña-Jito is a unique and bold take on a piña colada. Made with Beach Bar Platinum and Red Head rums, mint, cream of coconut, soda water, lime juice, pineapple juice and bitters. The Red Head rum float adds the flavor and notes of macadamia nuts, which are steeped into the rum tanks during the final stages of making the rum.
Mojitos
The 808 Mojito is a uniquely Hawaiian twist on a classic Cuban mojito. This refreshingly tropical treat, which is infused with pineapple, mango and Sammy’s macadamia nut steeped Beach Bar Red Head Rum, will instantly transport you from Havana to Honolulu.
Another riff on the classic mojito with an added twist, the Coconut Mojito takes the traditional ingredients of Sammy’s Beach Bar Platinum Rum, lime, mint and cane sugar and adds coconut to the mix for a tropical twist.
Sammy’s Pomegranate Mojito is made with Monin Pomegranate Syrup, an all natural syrup that adds an extra punch of tartness and sweetness to the drink. Mixed with the traditional mojito ingredients of mint, lime and soda water in a robust and refreshing drink.
The Mojito Rising is Sammy’s special mojito recipe that blends the flavors of Sammy’s Beach Bar Platinum and Red Head rums together to create a mouthwatering drink. The romance of these two spirits combined with berry flavors and the traditional mojito ingredients of mint, lime and soda water make for one of Sammy’s personal favorites to mix up for small get-togethers.
Daiquiris
The Rockin’ Daiquiri’s ingredients of pineapple juice, lychee fruit, and sweet & sour mix pair with Sammy’s Beach Bar Platinum to make a citrusy cocktail. Do like Sammy does and make a pitcher of them!
