frozen pizza, food, food blog, pizza lovers
By Kevin Wilkerson, PubClub.com Food Blogger
It is the go-to food for lazy bachelors who don’t know how – or don’t want – to cook.
It is a shove-it-in-the-oven meal that is neither a tasty culinary treat nor a tasteless piece of cardboard.
It is frozen pizza, the ideal easy dinner or weekend lunch and a perfect pairing for when watching a ballgame.
Some frozen pizzas are barely palatable, best for “well I need to eat something” moments while others can be rather satisfying to the taste buds.
And of course, those taste buds vary according to the individual, which is why it’s best to get more than one opinion on which is the best, the worst or just the ordinary. That is why I have accepted the MenWhoBlog.com frozen pizza challenge.
Myself and other male bloggers are tasting national brands on a live show that will air on Wednesday, Jan. 17, at 5 p.m., Pacific Time. It can be viewed on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube; here is the link to the Facebook broadcast.
The show will be led by Men Who Blog publisher James Hills, will include myself from PubClub.com, Mike Satterfield of TheGentlemen Racer.com, Tom Fisher of BourbonBlog.com, Christopher Lewis of DadOfDivas.com, Sujeet Patel of GuysGab.com and J. Darren Lister of HalfDozenDad.com.
We have each been given a frozen pizza to go buy from the grocery store and to give it an honest taste test. The pizzas are from California Pizza Kitchen, DiGiorno, Freschetta, Jacks, Red Baron, Tombstone and Tony’s. I choose Red Baron.
But there is more than frozen pizza to the show. We will also be giving our thoughts on pizza chains California Pizza Kitchen, Dominos, Pizza Hut, Little Caesars, Marco’s, Papa John’s, Papa Murphy’s. In this category, I chose Marco’s.
So for you #pizzalovers out there, tune into the show and see what we think of these frozen and takeout/delivery pizzas.
