Two-Day Lakefront Music Fest Also Features Travis Tritt July 13-14
Fans of Credence Clearwater Revivial will be rolling down to the river this summer as the band’s modern-day edition, called Credence Clearwater Revisited, plays the Lakefront Music Fest in Prior Lake, MN.
The two-day event is July 13-14 and features Grammy winning country singer Travis Tritt on the 13th and Credence Clearwater Revisited on the 14th. Tickets are just $10 in advance, and $15 on site. And that’s for both days. In all, there are seven bands, three on Friday and four on Saturday.
“We are excited for this amazing lineup of both national and local talent that will help us support local non-profits, as well,” said Paul Perez, Lakefront Music Fest co-chair. “We look forward to offering a wider variety of music and are excited about our strong lineup of musicians.”
Credence Clearwater Revisited performs CCR’s original songs like Proud Mary, Fortunate Son, Bad Moon Rising and Have You Ever Seen The Rain. It is comprised of CCR members Stu Cook and Doug “Cosmo” (bass and drums, respectively). The lead singer is John Tristao, not John Fogerty, and lead guitarist Kurt Griffey has recorded and toured with the Moody Blues, Foreigner and Lynyrd Skynryd.
The Lakefront Music Fest takes place at Lakefront Park, 5000 Kop Parkway, Prior Lake, MN. The park has a lot to do in itself; it’s a 130-acre area that features an amphitheater, three-mile trail system, floating boardwalk and fishing pier, Watzl’s Beach, a pavilion, two park shelters, a large playground area, skate park, two full-sized hockey rinks, a pleasure rink, a full-sized soccer field, a baseball diamond, tennis courts, a basketball court, a winter sliding hill, a sand volleyball court.
The music festival is put on by the Prior Lake Rotary and is presented by Mystic Lake Casino Hotel and the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community. The event’s website is lakefrontmusicfest.com.
