March Madness Beach Cities Style Continues With These Top Social Events

Welcome to the PubClub.com Party Report!
This is a rundown of all the hot happenings in and around Hermosa Beach and the South Bay for the weekend of March 23-25.
Happy Hour Beach Volleyball Starts Friday
Combining two of the most important things in the South Bay, this group plays beach volleyball, then goes to Hennessey’s for Happy Hour! It’s each Friday and drink specials are arranged by the organizer and founder Ray Dussault. It’s $25 for the entire year and sign up here on Meetup and then read Ray’s rundown of Happy Hour Beach Volleyball.
Goodbye Party For Sarah!
She’s moving to Chicago. Home of Navy Pier, lots of beer, fun bars and Wrigley Field. Get ready for a South Bay Road Trip invasion Sarah – hope you have a lot of floor space for us to crash in your new apartment! You may discuss this with her in person at her going-away party Friday at Patrick Molloy’s starting at 7 p.m. She will also have Happy Hour wristbands.

March Madness Manhattan Beach Connection
Would you believe there’s a South Bay connection to March Madness? And since you’re bracket is no doubt not just busted but smashed like that wine glass I just dropped, here’s a team and person to root for in the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.
Nevada’s coach – he of the dropped F-bombs in the locker room on live TV and the running shirtless into the locker room after his team’s second upset win – Eric Musselman used to live in Manhattan Beach. He was in El Porto, on 44th Street just across Highland.
I know this because he was one of my first South Bay friends when I moved here. I knew his dad – a known Nick Saban-type intense NBA and CBA coach who was actually a good guy – when I was a sportswriter in Savannah, GA, and he gave me his son’s info to contact when I got to L.A. We hung out a bit in my early South Bay days.
So go Wolfpack! They play Thursday at 4:15.
St. Patrick’s Day In Hermosa Beach Rewind

Whether it was the predicted rain that was actually sunshine, or the fact the parade and March 17th were both on the same Saturday or that all the March Madness brackets were so busted there was no point in watching any of the games, it was a smiles-filled St. Patrick’s Day in Hermosa Beach. And no place along the pier was slammed with people – it was all good-sized, friendly locals. Check out the PubClub review.

El Segundo Keg Hunt 2018 Signups

The hunt for not Easter eggs but Easter kegs is on, and it’s taking place on Saturday, March 31. This excuse for a pub crawl has several hundred people – in costumes, of course, after all this is the South Bay! – going from bar to get clues to find hidden kegs. Of course, some groups are so good at finding kegs that most of us can’t compete so we just go to the bars. PubClub’s review (below) has the rundown of participating bars for 2018.

Hermosa Beach Lifestyle Blogs
I’ve been inspired to write a couple of blogs about the lifestyle in Hermosa this week. So grab your drink, kick back and enjoy the reads! And send ’em to all your friends who don’t live here!
