El Segundo Keg Hunt & Hermosa Beach Pub Crawl

It’s Easter Weekend and in the South Bay that means we’re all searching for groups of people to drink with, right!? Hey, my mom will say to also go to church on Sunday, even if you’re not a regular.
That could help cleanse you from all the bad things you did on Saturday! Ha. Keep reading for a rundown of those things that could make you do “bad” things.
As I write this the weather calls for clouds (hey don’t shoot the messenger!) with a high in the upper 60s. Sunday, there will be some sunshine with about the same temperatures.
• El Segundo Keg Hunt
Why hunt for eggs when you can hunt for kegs!? That’s kind of the thought behind the annual Easter Keg Hunt taking place Saturday in El Segundo. This is a really fun event, tho I’m not one good at figuring out clues to find the kegs so I just sit in the bars! Eventually, that’s what most people do anyway. You can sign up and form a team four people – be sure to have a themed costume, like Smackfest – or you can just go to the bars.
By the way, as I’m typing this, I mentioned it to Art Mann and he asked “do people get drunk?” HA! We both had a nice laugh on that one.

• Hermosa Beach Easer Pub Crawl
Also on Saturday, there’s an Easter and Spanish-themed pub crawl. The Joya Sangria (thus the Spanish theme) Easter Egg Hunt Pub Crawl takes place in Hermosa. Put on by Ray Dussault, this also involves getting clues in Easter eggs to win prizes. The starting place and time is The Deck at 1 p.m. It’s sponsored by Joya Sangria, so put a little “ole!,” into your Easter weekend.

• Now You’re Facing The South Bay Dilemma
Okay, so these two fun events are the same day at the same time. This means you are facing what I call “The South Bay Dilemma.” How many times will you face it this weekend? Next weekend?

• Sunday At Standing Room & Hermosa Beach Live Music
Sundays are now rockin’ in the South Bay! The heavy metal rock show led by sizzlin’ guitarist Mitch Perry is a regular occurrence at Standing Room. This is really a jam session and it’s awesome. Plus, it’s free! It goes from 4-8. Trust me, you won’t want to leave at 8. Then of course, you can go rock out with the all-night Happy Hour at Patrick Molloy’s or the more mellow music scene at Tower 12’s back bar.
• Easter Sunday Service – Can Anybody Help Me Find A Normal Church!?
My mother would really like if her son went to church on Easter Sunday but the problem is I can’t find a “normal one.” Seriously, I’ve been to “churches” where the 25-year-old preacher says “awesome,” where people sing and sway like a bunch of holy rollers and where the pastor calls out like a TV evangelist “WHO WANTS TO BE SAVED!?” Suggestions are welcome!
