10K Run, Local Bands Plus Eagles & Patriots Bars

By Kevin Wilkerson, PubClub.com South Bay Blogger
Welcome to the PubClub.com Party Report for Super Bowl weekend, a rundown of events, bands & bars in Hermosa & Redondo Beach.
SUPER BOWL 10K
The South Bay is a unique place to be for Super Bowl Sunday because for many, the day starts with this colorful event. Some 8,000 people, several of whom are dressed in costumes, run, walk and then drink beer in a rockin’ beer garden. Yes it’s early, but when you’re in that beer garden, having a couple of brews at 10 in the morning, you know your Super Bowl Sunday is off to a great start.
PubClub has several Super Bowl 10K stories, so click the links!

The Slip is having $3 Michelob Ultras for runners…A group of us always goes to the VFW so find us in the beer garden. HYBC, the little dive bar on 2nd & Hermosa Ave., is also a post-race stop for runners, as well as a great place to fill up on its awesome HBYC chips & burgers…Hermosa Saloon is providing free hot dogs from its hot dog bar to all 10K runners (i’ve not had a hot dog in years!).
SOUTH BAY EAGLES ALLIANCE
Local Philadelphia Eagles fans will be gathering at Chelsea Pub starting at 1:30. The South Bay Eagles Alliance, 50+strong throughout the season, uses this bar as its home base and it will be packed. Eagles fans and people wearing Eagles gear will have priority for entering Chelsea.
For more on the Eagles at Chelsea, check out this post and be sure to watch the video of them singing “Fly Eagles, Fly!”

Local Patriots fans will be cheering on Tom Brady at Tower 12 and The Deck.
