Beer Lovers Try To Tap Into 3,500 Beers

For beer lovers who can’t be at Oktoberfest, there’s another option – the Great American Beer Festival.
And thousands are in Denver the last weekend of September for the 2015 event. As a result, downtown Denver is buzzing and the LoDo bars are packed more so than usual. It’s a convention scene with people here to drink beer.
The festival features a staggering number of beers – 3,500 – in what has become the most popular beer tasting event in America.
Toughest Ticket In Town
Tickets are as hard to get as they are for a Jimmy Buffett concert – they are gone within minutes on Ticketmaster. The Great American Beer Festival is just that, a great beer festival of American beers.
And with craft beers being so big now – A-B InBev’s purchase of Golden Road Brewing having occurred just earlier in the week – those brews are a primary reason for the event’s wild popularity.
Well, that and just the THOUGHT of walking into a room and having 3,500 beers from 700 brewers right in front of you.
Beers are served in one-ounce glasses so over the three days (Thursday-Sunday with Saturday being reserved for Brewers Association and American Homebrewers Association members) you have a reasonable chance of getting to many of the beers.
Tickets are $80 – if you can get them – and go on sale in July.
